Cara Centre (Sport Inclusion Ireland), Tralee, Co. Kerry. Dec 2015 – Present: My main duty is to organize and coordinate Camp Abilities Ireland. This is a week-long residential, sport and recreation camp for children with vision impairments. I organize everything from the activity schedule, activity leaders, camper recruitment, volunteer recruitment, analysis and promotion. As well as this, I coordinate Training and Education Dept, look after all the finance, the coordination and liaising of the Tutor Team and general updating and maintaining of course resources.
Active Kingdom, Tralee, Co. Kerry. May 2015 – Sept 2015. These are activity camps and school tours whereby children of all abilities participate in a variety of different activities. I was a group leader and any group that had people with disabilities or special needs were assigned to me as I was deemed to have the best knowledge and skill set to adapt and include everybody.
Cara Centre (Sport Inclusion Ireland), Tralee, Co. Kerry. Feb 2015 – May 2015: I worked here as part of my work placement module for my final year in college. My main duty was to organize and coordinate Camp Abilities Ireland – A 5 day residential Sports and Recreation Camp for Children with Vision Impairments. Other
roles involved training and education courses such as Disability Inclusion Training, assisting with National Inclusion Awards 2015 and data analysis.
Strength and Conditioning Coach, Crusheen Hurling 2010-2012: This position required me to test the group and individuals of the senior hurling panel. I then had to devise personal programs for each squad member. I had to devise sport specific strength and conditioning drills and incorporate them into the training sessions. I also advised the squad on nutrition. Crusheen won back to back Clare Senior Hurling titles during my time with them.
