KINDERGARTEN HOMEROOM TEACHER/ CEL/RISE KOREA/ KINDERGARTEN/ ELEMENTARY 2017-2018
Oksu/Seongdong. Teach homeroom kindergarten in the morning (10am-2:30 pm) and elementary classes in the afternoon (2:30-6:00pm). Taught 5 year-olds, focusing on learning the alphabet, phonic sounds, writing (alphabet), simple speaking phrases, basic reading and classroom behavior. Was very successful with the children attaining proper alphabet recognition, proper pronunciation, legible writing and reading. Continued with the same class as 6 year-olds, with continued progress in higher level, and very intensive courses. Students were proficient in knowing their alphabet, writing legibly, proper pronunciation, reading, and speaking in full sentences- as well as successful spelling tests. Design English activities and games that allowed for repetition of class material with additional fun and competition. Work together with Korean co-teachers to facilitate the communicative learning process.
ESL INSTRUCTOR / UNCLE LION ENGLISH ACADEMY/ BEGINNER- INTERMEDIATE 2015- 2017
Jeonju, Jeolla-Do. Teach a wide range of learners from young beginners (alphabet recognition) to middle-school. Create lessons that clearly and concisely communicate essential elements required for successful understanding of the material. Assess student’s progress on a regular basis, both as classes and individuals. Design English activities and games that allow for repetition of material with additional fun and friendly competition. Work together with Korean co-teachers to facilitate the communicative learning process. Facilitate in-class discussion. The main focus of my class is on speaking (pronunciation and fluency), listening (understanding grammar concepts and following directions), writing (punctuation and grammar expression), and some reading (including reading comprehension prompts).
ESL INSTRUCTOR / GLOBAL KIDS INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGE SCHOOL / ELEMENTARY- MIDDLE SCHOOL 2014- 2015
Seoul, South Korea. Taught elementary though middle school learners (Phonics through advanced listening comprehension). Successfully completed intensive courses with multiple books and short timelines. Elements of my classes: daily conversational skills, grammar, essay writing, reading comprehension, communicative activities, history, science, monthly standardized testing, and progress reports.
ESL INSTRUCTOR / BUYONG MIDDLE SCHOOL/ MIDDLE SCHOOL FALL 2011- 2012
Uijeongbu, Gyenggi-do. Taught lower level grammar and conversation. Responsible for 800+ students per week (Classes were 40+ students each). Created Power Point presentations for each lesson, with focus on grammar construction, basic conversation, and conversation prompts. Used games to reinforce tactual learning, one-on-one and small group conversation, and friendly competition. Was responsible for the design and completion of both Summer and Winter Camp activities. Worked with Korean co-teachers to optimize concept understanding.
